I’ve often feel like I’m lying if I post any design work where I didnt do 100% of the work. But after working at a handful of studios, I realized that in some instances it is a collective effort, and I think its okay to say, “I did this” as long as you say what it is you did. Like… I helped take my creative directors concept and implemented it into a package design, that seems acceptable enough.
So, I was wondering, what ever happened with that Bright Starts packaging I helped work on at my last job back in 2009. I KNOW I’ve seen some of it out in stores, so I it must have ended up getting approved. But doing a quick search, I came across this person’s portfolio on AIGA, and they have POSTED MINE & MY OLD COMPANIES ARTWORK ON THEIR SITE! Maybe all they worked on was the logo, which ended up not being used, but how can they post the package design THAT I WORKED ON and claim it as their own?? This Jpeg they posted was directly pulled from our Client FTP Login, so maybe the client gave it to them, but still. False Advertising.
EDIT: This design was not approved, so its not exactly whats out in stores now.
